Abstrak

Mothers with pregnancy / childbirth with severe preeclampsia or eclampsia are a serious problem because they can threaten death for both mother and fetus. Preeclampsia is the second largest cause of death in pregnancy in the world. In Indonesia, preeclampsia and eclampsia are the cause of death ranging from 1.5% to 25%. At RSUD dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya said that an increase in the number of mothers with preeclampsia from 2018 was 259 cases up to 2019 which was 277 cases or an increase of 3.35%. Fulfillment of an increase in balanced food intake plays an important role on the health of pregnant women and fetuses. Unhealthy living habits with the habit of consuming foods that are high in fat, high in salt and a little protein can trigger an increase in blood which causes preeclampsia. To determine the relationship  of  sodium  intake consumption  patterns  with  the incidence of  preeclampsia  in  pregnant women in the VK Maternity room of RSUD Dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya. Type of research is observational analytic, withdesign cross sectional. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, the sample in this study was pregnant women in the VK Maternity room of RSUD Dr. Doris Sylvanus in January-March 2020.The result of Chi-Square Test analysis, the value of ρ = 0.014 <α 0.05 which proves that there is an influence between the independent variable (consumption pattern of sodium intake) with the dependent variable (pregnant women with preeclampsia) with OR = 6.314. There is a correlation between the consumption pattern of sodium intake with the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women in the maternity VK room of RSUD Dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya.
